Teodoro is the Spanish, Portuguese and Italian form of Theodore, from the Greek Theodoros, which means "gift of God". It was borne by many early saints and by Teodoro Obiang, long-serving president of Equatorial Guinea. While Theodore has become a top 10 name in the United States, Teodoro remains rare and is used mainly in Hispanic families; it stood at number 2293 in 2000 and ranks number 2752 in 2025.
