Solene is the French Solène without its accent, a name that goes back to the Latin sollemnis and means "solemn" or "ceremonial", by way of the early Christian saint Solemnia. It is a modern favorite in France and carries the chic sound of Elodie and Margaux. In the United States Solene was practically unknown until recently: it jumped from number 5,235 in 2023 to number 1,752 in 2024 and on to number 1,257 in 2025, its best rank by far.
