Elodie is the French form of Alodia, the name of a 9th-century Spanish saint, and comes from a Visigothic name of uncertain meaning that is usually explained as "foreign riches" or "wealth". French parents have loved it for decades, and American parents are now discovering its melodic, vintage sound. Elodie entered the US top 1000 in 2019 and jumped from number 737 in 2023 to 372 in 2024 and 310 in 2025, its best rank ever.
