Seraphina is the feminine form of the Latin Seraphinus, which comes from the Hebrew seraphim, the "fiery ones" or "burning ones", the highest order of angels. Saint Seraphina, called Fina, was a young Tuscan ascetic of the 13th century. Long a rarity in the United States, Seraphina has ridden the taste for long, romantic names: it entered the top 1000 in 2023 and reached number 600 in 2025, its best rank yet.
