Seraphine is the French form of Seraphina, from the Hebrew seraphim, the "burning ones" or "fiery ones", the highest order of angels in Isaiah's vision. The French painter Seraphine de Senlis, subject of a 2008 film, is its best-known bearer. Seraphine stood at number 17120 in 2000 and has risen slowly to number 2993 in 2025, its best rank so far.
