Reyes is the Spanish word for "kings" and refers to the Three Kings of the Epiphany, Dia de Reyes on January 6, which gave rise to the devotional name and surname. Children born around that feast have long received it in Spain and Mexico. In the United States Reyes stood at number 1425 in 2000, its best rank in the period, and sits at number 2976 in 2025.
