Raylen is a modern American name formed from Ray, a short form of Raymond meaning "wise protector", and the ending -len as in Jaylen and Kaylen. The spelling Raylan was popularized by the US marshal Raylan Givens in the television series Justified, which ran from 2010 to 2015. Raylen has held a narrow range for a decade: number 1544 in 2015, number 2073 in 2023 and number 1696 in 2025.
