Rayden is a modern American name of uncertain origin, usually explained either as a blend of Ray and Aiden or as a respelling of Raiden, the Japanese "thunder god" Raijin, who became widely known through the Mortal Kombat video games. The name shares its sound with Jayden, Kayden and Brayden, which helped it along. Rayden entered the US top 1000 in 2010, peaked at number 670 in 2015 and ranks number 833 in 2025.
