Rayan is the Arabic name Rayyan and means "well-watered" or "luxuriant"; in Islamic tradition Ar-Rayyan is the gate of Paradise reserved for those who fast. It is popular across the Arab world, in France and among Muslim families in the United States, where it is often mistaken for a spelling of Ryan.
