Serenity is the English word for "calm" or "peacefulness", from the Latin serenus, clear and tranquil. It belongs to the virtue names that American parents revived around 2000, alongside Trinity, Harmony and Nevaeh, and the Serenity Prayer gives it a spiritual note. Serenity ranked number 433 in 2000, entered the top 100 in 2009 and peaked at number 52 in 2013, and in 2025 it stands at number 129.
