Madelin is a streamlined spelling of Madeline, the English form of Magdalene, the title of Mary Magdalene, which means "woman from Magdala", a town on the Sea of Galilee whose name means "tower". Without the final e it looks a little more modern and matches the sound most Americans use. Madelin ranked number 1553 in 2000 and has climbed back to number 2426 in 2025.
