Luccas is a double-c spelling of Lucas, the Latin form of the Greek Loukas, "man from Lucania", a region of southern Italy; the name is also often linked to lux, "light". The spelling with two c's is popular in Brazil and echoes the Tuscan city Lucca. Luccas climbed from outside the top 6,000 in 2015 to number 3,251 in 2024 and reaches number 2,701 in 2025, its best rank, with 48 births.
