Kyro is a modern American name with no established etymology; it is usually explained as a respelling of Cairo, the Egyptian capital, whose Arabic name means "the victorious", or as a short, punchy form of Cyrus, the Greek Kyros. Its appeal is the trendy Ky- opening and the -o ending shared with Milo and Leo. Kyro was unknown in 2000, entered the top 1000 in 2019 and reached number 611 in 2025, its best rank yet.
