Khamazi is a very recent American coinage with no established etymology; it appears to be built on the fashionable Kh- opening of names like Khamari and Khalil with a free-form -azi ending, and is best described as "a modern invented name". It was virtually unknown before the 2020s. Khamazi jumped from number 5173 in 2024 to number 2132 in 2025, by far its best result so far.
