Khamari is a modern American name, a variant of Kamari with the kh spelling that also appears in Khalil and Khadijah. Kamari is usually explained through the Swahili kamari, from the Arabic qamar, and read as "moon" or "moonlight", though many parents choose it for its rhythm alongside Amari and Jamari. Khamari has never reached the US top 1000, rising from number 2007 in 2015 to number 1260 in 2022 and ranking 1446 in 2025.
