Caden is a modern American name usually traced to the Irish surname Mac Cadáin, "son of Cadán", though for most parents it is simply the Aiden and Jayden sound with a different first letter. It arrived together with that whole rhyming family in the early 2000s and is spelled Kaden, Cayden and Kayden as well. Caden rose from number 240 in 2000 to a peak of number 91 in 2006 and has held between 190 and 250 for the past decade, ranking number 201 in 2025.
