Brayden is a modern American name usually traced to the Irish surname Ó Bradáin, "descendant of Bradán", a name that means "salmon"; for most parents, though, it is the Br- version of the Aiden and Jayden sound. It was one of the biggest names of its wave and is also spelled Braden, Braydon and Braeden. Brayden rose from number 199 in 2000 to a peak of number 36 in 2011, stayed in the top 100 until 2018 and ranks number 229 in 2025.
