Jacinto is the Spanish and Portuguese form of Hyacinth, the Greek name of a flower and of the youth loved by Apollo, so it means "hyacinth". Saint Hyacinth of Poland and the Texas battlefield of San Jacinto keep the name in view. In the United States Jacinto is a traditional choice in Hispanic families that ranked number 2499 in 2000, dipped past number 6000 in 2018 and has recovered to number 2857 in 2025.
