Aurelio is the Italian and Spanish form of the Roman family name Aurelius, from the Latin aureus, and means "golden". The Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius, the philosopher on the throne, is the most famous bearer of the original name. Aurelio ranked only number 1430 in the United States in 2000, but as the vintage sounds of Aurelia and Aurelius caught on, it entered the top 1000 in 2022 and reached number 681 in 2025, its best position yet.
