Benito is the Spanish and Italian form of Benedict, from the Latin benedictus, meaning "blessed". Benito Juárez, Mexico's revered 19th-century president, gave the name lasting prestige in Latin America, and today it belongs to the Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio. In the United States Benito ranked number 895 in 2000, fell to number 1877 in 2016 and has climbed back to number 1002 in 2025.
