Ilyas is the Arabic and Turkish form of Elijah, the Hebrew prophet's name that means "my God is Yahweh" or "the Lord is my God". The Quran names Ilyas among the prophets, which makes the name common across the Muslim world from Turkey to Central Asia. In the United States Ilyas has risen from number 1773 in 2015 to number 1075 in 2025, its best rank so far.
