Hollyn is a modern American name that blends Holly, the evergreen "holly tree" with its red winter berries, with the -lyn ending of Brooklyn and Emmalyn. The result keeps the Christmas warmth of Holly but sounds fresher to current ears. Hollyn had fewer than 20 births a year in 2000, stood at number 3941 in 2015 and has climbed steadily to number 1313 in 2025, its best rank so far.
