Hollie is a spelling variant of Holly, the English name for the evergreen "holly tree" whose red berries decorate homes at Christmas. The -ie ending is especially common in Britain, where Hollie has ranked much higher than in America. In the United States the name has never cracked the top 1000; it reached number 1109 in 2001 and now stands at number 2834 in 2025.
