Giorgio is the Italian form of George, from the Greek georgos, which means "farmer" or "earth-worker". Fashion designer Giorgio Armani has made it one of the most recognizable Italian names in the world. In the United States Giorgio is used mostly by Italian-American families: it ranked number 2451 in 2000, reached its best position at number 1726 in 2024 and stands at number 1963 in 2025.
