Galilea is the Spanish name of Galilee, the region in northern Israel where Jesus grew up and preached; it goes back to the Hebrew galil, "district" or "circle". As a given name it is mostly used by Mexican and Mexican-American families, often with a religious intention. In the United States Galilea has been in the top 1000 since 2012, peaked at number 525 in 2016 and ranks 647 in 2025.
