Esaias is the Greek and Latin form of Isaiah, the Hebrew prophet's name that means "Yahweh is salvation" or "God saves". It is the spelling used in the Greek New Testament and in older Scandinavian and German Bibles, which is why it survives as a given name in Sweden, Finland and Norway. In the United States Esaias stood at number 5677 in 2000, reached its best rank of number 2139 in 2024 and is number 2493 among boys' names in 2025.
