Elowynn is an American spelling of Elowen, a Cornish name that means "elm tree", from the Cornish word elowen. The name was coined in Cornwall only in the 20th century as part of the revival of the Cornish language and has spread through the English-speaking world as a soft alternative to Evelyn and Eloise. In the United States Elowynn first appeared in 2016 and has risen every year since, from number 4831 in 2022 to number 2494 in 2025, its best rank so far.
