Eliseo is the Spanish and Italian form of Elisha, from the Hebrew Elisha, which means "God is salvation" or "my God is help". The prophet Elisha, successor of Elijah, is its biblical bearer. In the United States Eliseo ranked number 930 in 2000, has climbed steadily since entering the top 1000 for good in 2014 and reaches number 550 among boys' names in 2025, its best rank yet.
