Cosmo is the English and Italian form of Cosmas, from the Greek kosmos, which means "order" or "beauty" and gave us the word cosmos. Saint Cosmas and his brother Damian were physicians and early Christian martyrs, and Cosimo de' Medici carried the name in Renaissance Florence. In the United States Cosmo rose from number 3658 in 2000 to a peak of number 1688 in 2024 and ranks number 1934 in 2025.
