Ayzel is a modern American name of uncertain origin; it is usually linked to the Turkish and Azerbaijani Aysel, from ay, "moon", and sel, "flood", a poetic image of flooding moonlight, or seen as a blend of Ayla and Itzel favored by Hispanic families. It barely existed before 2016 and has since shot up from number 11944 to number 2330 in 2025, its best US rank so far.
