Annya is a spelling variant of Anya, the Russian pet form of Anna, which goes back to the Hebrew Hannah, "grace" or "favor". The extra n keeps the Anna connection visible while the ending gives it the softer Slavic sound. Annya was a rarity in the United States for decades, at number 9227 in 2000, and then surged from number 6480 in 2022 to number 1125 in 2025, its best rank so far.
