Annika is the Swedish pet form of Anna, which goes back to the Hebrew Hannah and means "grace" or "favor". Americans met the name through Pippi Longstocking's friend Annika and golfer Annika Sörenstam. In the United States Annika ranked number 446 in 2000 and peaked at number 285 in 2003; it has slowly declined since, from number 566 in 2015 to number 995 in 2025.
