Annalise is an English spelling of the German Anneliese, a combination of Anna, "grace", and Liese, a short form of Elisabeth, "God is my oath". The character Annalise Keating in How to Get Away with Murder, played by Viola Davis, gave it recent visibility. Annalise has been in the US top 1000 all century, rising from number 821 in 2000 to a peak of number 385 in 2021, and stands at number 409 in 2025.
