Annabeth is an English compound of Anna, meaning "grace", and Beth, the short form of Elizabeth, "God is my oath". The name was rare until Rick Riordan gave it to Annabeth Chase, the clever daughter of Athena in the Percy Jackson books, which started its climb in the 2010s. Annabeth peaked at number 1165 in 2014 and sits at number 2078 in 2025.
