Annabella is the Italianate form of Annabel, a Scottish name that most likely began as Amabel, from the Latin amabilis, "lovable", though it is usually understood today as Anna plus bella, "graceful and beautiful". The name rode the Isabella wave of the 2000s. Annabella entered the top 1000 in 2001, peaked at number 256 in 2014 and has since dropped to number 1352 in 2025.
