Anabella is a Spanish and Italian spelling of Annabella, the Latinate form of Annabel; that Scottish name probably began as Amabel, "lovable", but has long been understood as Anna plus bella, "beautiful". In the United States the single-n spelling is favored by Hispanic families. Anabella ranked number 2190 in 2000, entered the top 1000 in 2008, peaked at number 529 in 2014 and has since declined to number 2258 in 2025.
