Aithana is a spelling variant of Aitana, a Spanish name of uncertain origin taken from the Sierra de Aitana, a mountain range near Alicante; the poet Rafael Alberti gave it to his daughter in 1941, and it is popularly glossed as "glory". The pop singer Aitana made the name a hit in Spain after 2017, and Latin American families have adopted it with the extra h. In the United States Aithana rose from number 8021 in 2015 to number 2019 in 2025, its best rank yet.
