Zaydan is an Arabic name from the root zayd, meaning "growth" or "abundance", the same root behind Zaid, Zayd and the surname of soccer great Zinedine Zidane. In the United States it also works as a cousin of the hugely popular Zayden and Zaiden, which gives it a familiar sound even to parents who do not know the Arabic. Zaydan had fewer than five births in 2000, has moved between number 2500 and 3300 over the past decade and reaches its best rank, number 2478, in 2025 with 55 boys.
