Yuna is a short name found in both Japanese and Korean, where the meaning depends on the characters chosen; common Japanese readings combine yu, "gentle" or "excellent", with na, "greens" or "vegetables". Many Americans met the name through the heroine of the video game Final Fantasy X and through the Korean figure skater Yuna Kim. Yuna has climbed from number 5698 in 2000 to number 952 among girls' names in 2025, its first year in the US top 1000.
