Yasmina is an Arabic and North African form of Yasmin, from the Persian yasamin, the fragrant flower we call "jasmine". It is especially common in Morocco, Algeria and France, where the extra -a gives the name a rounder, more romantic sound than Yasmin. In the United States Yasmina ranked number 4288 in 2000, climbed to a best rank of 1731 in 2024 and stands at number 1866 in 2025.
