Xochitl is a Nahuatl name meaning "flower". It was one of the twenty day signs of the Aztec calendar and is pronounced roughly SO-cheel; it remains a proud choice in Mexico and in Mexican American families. In the United States Xochitl ranked number 1394 in 2000 and has moved up since 2016 to number 1101 in 2025, its best rank so far.
