Winsley is a modern American coinage that joins the Win- of Winnie and Winslow with the fashionable -ley ending; the Old English element wine behind it means "friend". It is also an English village name, but as a first name it is a product of the last decade. In 2025 Winsley jumped to number 1832, its best rank so far, after sitting at number 3332 in 2024 and far outside the top 10,000 as recently as 2017.
