Westlynn is a modern American coinage that joins the direction word West, a popular boys' name element as in Weston and Westley, to the favorite girls' ending -lynn; taken literally it means "west" plus "lake" or "waterfall", the Welsh sense of lyn. It fits the pattern of Oaklynn, Raelynn and Emberlynn. The name was almost unknown before 2017, drifted around number 5000 to 6600 for several years and then jumped to number 2435 in 2025, its best rank so far, with 74 girls.
