Oaklynn is a modern American coinage that joins the word "oak", the tree of strength and endurance, to the popular ending -lynn found in Brooklynn and Adalynn. It belongs to a wave of nature-inspired inventions that parents took up in the 2010s. Oaklynn had fewer than a handful of births in 2000, entered the top 1000 in 2017 and has climbed to number 153 in 2025, its best rank so far.
