Truett is an English surname of uncertain origin, sometimes linked to the word "true" and sometimes read as a diminutive of an old Norman name. In America it is firmly tied to S. Truett Cathy, the founder of Chick-fil-A, which gives it a strong Southern flavor. Truett was number 5889 in 2000, entered the top 1000 in 2020 and has climbed every year since, reaching number 521 in 2025, its highest rank yet.
