Truce is an English word name that means "truce", a "pause in fighting" agreed between enemies; it comes from the Old English treow, a pledge or promise. It belongs to the newest wave of virtue and attitude names, next to Creed, Legend and Maverick, that American parents began choosing in the 2020s. Truce was given to only a handful of boys a year until 2023, then jumped into the US top 1000 in 2024 and ranks number 774 in 2025.
