Saint is a modern American name taken directly from the English word for a "holy person" or "saint", from the Latin sanctus, consecrated. It belongs to the recent group of grand word names such as King, Legend and Messiah, and it drew wide attention when Kim Kardashian and Kanye West gave it to their son in 2015. Saint entered the US top 1000 in 2018, shot up from number 2950 in 2015 to number 267 among boys' names in 2025, its highest rank so far.
