Soleia is a modern American coinage built on sol, the Latin and Spanish word for "sun", with a flowing ending like Soleil and Aleia. It has no history before the 21st century, but it fits the current taste for sun and sky names. Soleia was given to only a few girls a year in the 2010s, then rose from number 3380 in 2023 to number 1691 in 2025, its highest rank so far.
