Shoshana is the Hebrew form of Susanna and means "lily" or, in modern Hebrew, "rose". The name appears in the Old Testament apocrypha in the story of Susanna and the elders, and it has remained a classic in Jewish families. In the United States Shoshana has hovered around number 1500 to 1900 for decades: it was number 1790 in 2000, reached number 1461 in 2022 and stands at number 1682 in 2025.
