Scottie is a pet form of Scott, the English surname meaning "from Scotland" or "Scotsman", and as a girls' name it joins the boyish nicknames such as Billie, Stevie and Charlie that are in fashion. It also recalls the Scottish terrier, the Scottie dog. Scottie is one of the fastest-rising girls' names in the country: number 3586 in 2015, in the top 1000 since 2022, then from number 616 in 2023 to number 202 in 2024 and number 126 in 2025.
